Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)

NCspeed supports the saving of information about tools and optimisation parameter in a database. The software use the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) for database access. Depending on your computer configuration it can be possible, that the required MDAC is already installed. You don't need to install MDAC, if you are using Windows XP, because it is already included. 

Remark: If you don't know the status of you MDAC installation, it is recommended to skip the installation of MDAC. After installation of NCspeed, you can start the application for checking the database access. If there is something missing, you get a appropriate error message. Then, please can visit the homepage from Microsoft and download the desired MDAC version.

Hardlock driver for software protection (dongle)

For running NCspeed a software hardlock (dongle) is required, which is supplied together with the installation CD. The  driver for accessing the dongle must be installed on the computer you want to install NCspeed. If you have a floating license you have to install the  server driver on the computer, the dongle is connected.

When using a floating license, it is recommended to install the  monitor software. Using the monitor software, you can check and administrate the used licenses. The software can be installed on any computer in the network.

New: New software module for repairing dies and molds. The toolpaths generated in common CAM systems can be trimmed to the repaired/weldes areas using this new software module. It helps to concentrate the machining to the essential regions without occupying CAM capacity. The software is designed for a shop floor usage, close to the machine by using an easy and intuitive user interface. For identifying the repaired/welded areas, a digital photo image can be displayed behind the toolpaths which helps the user to isolate the repair regions.

WorkNC-NCspeed Integration

If you have a valid license of WorkNC, a fully automated operation of NCspeed together is possible. Each NC-path generated and postprocessed by WorkNC will be transferred to NCspeed for optimization. All important parameters of the milling path like tool dimensions, path to path distance, z-step and feedrate are transferred too.

NCspeed Version 5 or higher contains all necessary tools for the integrated usage in WorkNC.
